My daughter and I celebrated her new job with a visit to
My daughter and I celebrated her new job with a visit to Ambrosia last week. Miguel provided prompt and courteous service. Mushroom tortellini and Cacio e pepe were scrumptious. Appetizers were also delicious. Even considering we paid for no drinks (BYOB), the bill was surprisingly low. The owner George, made it a point to stop by to check on us. Highly recommended. We will be returning.

cute quaint neighborhood restaurant with good food! we ordered the crispy brussel sprouts to start, papardelle and the duck as mains. complimentary foccacia bites were pleasant, crispy on the outside soft on the inside. brussel sprouts were delicious, definitely our favorite item from the night. papardelle was rich and al dente, duck cooked medium rare as ordered. the mains were not special, but adequate for a simple cute dinner. staff was friendly and prompt, only complaint is that the inside was more cramped than comfortable. we sat at a small two-person table in the middle of the restaurant, and i definitely accidentally elbowed some passersby while eating... sorry

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience at Ambrosia last evening. The service, food and staff were all exceptional. We were seated quickly. Miguel was a polite and attentive waiter. Appetizers (burrata, oysters, beef carpaccio) were all fresh and tasty. Entree's of tortelloni and cacio e' pepe were robust and delicious. In between clearing tables, owner George stopped by to ask if we were enjoying ourselves. What a nice touch! We will definitely come again.
Be the first to ReplyA cozy little BYOB in Philly.
Everything was spectacular from the service, ambiance and food. We began with the beef carpaccio, Brussel sprouts & grilled octopus. We preferred the carpaccio over the octopus. The beef melted in your mouth and instead of crackers to eat with it, it had flakes of crouton chips on top. The octopus was good but nothing new we haven't had before. The Brussel sprouts were different with the pomegranate seeds giving the dish a crunch while the labneh gave it a creamy contrast. It was our favorite dish of the evening. We selected two pastas, squid ink spaghettini & papardelle. We were not too impressed with the spaghettini but the papardelle made up for it. We will definitely return to try other things on the menu. It takes a 5 star experience for my husband to revisit any restaurant.

Ambrosia is the best dining experience in the city of Philadelphia . We have been dining there every weekend for several years. The staff is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Pujah makes us feel like we are family every weekend hostessing us and making sure we are seated at the best table. Yasmin as well is so wonderful and helpful and all of the wait staff is undeniably the best anywhere. Accommodating, knowledgeable , and so friendly. And the owner George is the very very best!!! He cannot do enough for his guests and his staff. That is why this restaurant flows and runs so well. Because the owners are always there making sure that everyone is happy and comfortable with their meal and the experience. Thank you Ambrosia! Jan Pecarsky

Your reservation will be cancelled and if you do decide to show up they rush you through a meal as quickly as possible. We've been here before and loved it so came back for a special evening and we were rushed out to the point when I was enjoying a dessert cocktail we were told people were waiting and to hurry up. Do not come here - go to an actual Italian BYOB that wants you to sit and enjoy you meal - not here.

Ambrosia did a great job for a wedding rehearsal dinner for 46 people. My wife and I had previously enjoyed dinner here on multiple occasions. We were fortunate enough to use their brand-new space and it was a pleasure working with both owner's (Fredi and George) in planning the dinner and bar menus, very accommodating with our selections. We used the warm 1st floor space for a cocktail hour that included an open bar and mix of hors d'oeuvres (group enjoyed many oysters and shrimp). Dinner was on 2nd floor where our guests enjoyed two options for the 1st, 2nd courses and desert with 4 options for main course. Our guests gave us great reviews about how delicious the food was (Burrata, Tortelloni and Short Rib were big hits) along with the great service provided by the staff, our wine glasses were never empty! Thank you Fredi and George for making this special occasion a great evening!

Nestled in a little corner, this place is a gem! It's a BYOB spot, which automatically gets extra points in my book. No fancy liquor list, just bring your own bottle and unwind. Really chill vibes in the restaurant. We started things off with Burrata. It was creamy and decadent. Paired with some roasted tomato spread and drizzled with olive oil - it's a match made in foodie heaven. Next, the octopus. Tender, flavorful, with just the right char. Pair that with a glass of your favorite vino, and you're off to a good start. Then came the duck. Oh boy, that duck! Crispy skin, juicy meat - it practically melts in your mouth. The flavors? Out of this world We finished the night with some tiramisu. Layers of coffee-soaked goodness, creamy mascarpone, dusted with cocoa powder - you can't mess up tiramisu imo. Overall, this place exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere is cozy, the food is top-notch, and it's BYOB! The service was very lovely as well! If you're in the mood for a laid-back dining experience with killer food, this place is where it's at. I'll definitely come back and recommended this place to my girlfriends.

first, I loved how this restaurant is BYOB so it was nice pairing wine with our food. I started with the grilled octopus and beef carpaccio which was delicious and balanced with flavor. The papardelle was good because of the short rib but didn't wow me. The crispy gnocchi was interesting and i didn't love it because i don't normally like a potato taste or too much goat cheese. The restaurant is overall cute and staff was very efficient in making sure our table is doing great!

I reallyyyyy wanted to like this place, the vibes were great, service was fantastic but the food was just not up to par. We got the cacio e pepe, mafaldine, crispy gnocchi and pappardelle and everything was extremely salty and the flavor just wasn't what we were looking for. Probably will not return but once again great service and atmosphere and always love a byob

It currently has an outdoor Covid 19 type set up which is pretty cool. My girlfriends and I sat inside the restaurant. Focaccia was given for the table and the waiter did a good job of making sure our cups of wine stayed full. The squid ink spaghettini was delicious and so filling. There was a ton of calamari and crabmeat in this dish. The grilled octopus was tasty as well. The octopus was cooked to perfection and the fingerling potatoes had the perfect amount of crisp to them. The salsa verde added a good amount of flavor to the dish as well.
Be the first to ReplyGreat experience.
Excellent service and AMAZING food. My group got multiple dishes that we all shared and every single one of them was great. 10/10 recommend.
Be the first to ReplyFood is good.
The inside is very tight. The staff was attentive. They do take out wishing is a plus.
Be the first to ReplyWas disappointed by the overall experience here.
The restaurant is very cramped and we were seated in the narrow entrance where the vent was blowing cold air down on us. We ordered the crispy gnocchi and the ravioli and both were so greasy and doused in oil that it wasn't enjoyable. However, the prices and portions are very reasonable.

Overall: romantic atmosphere, cute date night with great food, heat lamps kept us warm (seated outside) and ofc BYOB :) will definitely come back! Ordered: :) grilled octopus: looked huuuuge in pictures, but came out quite small (maybe seafood wasn't in season?), taste as expected :D pappardelle: was aaaaamazing, sauce was flavorful and opened up my appetite with each bite, ragu was q u a l i t y, all the ingredients blended together so well and did not overpower the other at all :) squid ink spaghetti: a bit underwhelming, did not taste the squid flavor in the spaghetti (again maybe the seafood wasn't in szn) but prob will not get this again. Service: normal

Ate here early on a Monday evening before catching the train. We started by sharing the enormous Caesar salad. I thought it was perfect with an abundance of Parmesan cheese layered throughout. My husband thought the dressing probably had anchovies in it because he thought it tasted fishy. we had the salmon with Polenta and pasta with meat sauce (I don't remember which). Both were excellent! Finished up with espresso and grappa. Service and ambiance were very good. Highly recommend for authentic Italian meal. Only complaint was the lack of Italian wines on the wine menu. A good Barbera would have been perfect!
Be the first to ReplyIf I could give more stars I would.
.. food was absolutely heavenly. Staring off with the Caesar salad had already left an impression in my mind. The chef's secret recipe is divine. Then we tried the chicken Milanese, crispy gnocchi, and short rib Ragu. I don't even like goat cheese but the crispy gnocchi was still great. The chicken Milanese are perfectly breaded and came with a light green salad. The short rib melted in your mouth. The ambience was cute and the restaurant was packed on a Tuesday night so clearly I'm not the only fan. The staff was kind and helpful as well. Will be back!!

I met up with four friends for dinner, and this restaurant was an amazing choice. I love that it's BYOB and the food is absolutely amazing. We started with the arugula salad, mussels and Brussels sprouts. For entrees we had the fish, cacio e Pepe, risotto & short rib ragu. Adding this to my "must return" list
