Promised a lot but failed to deliver
Service not attentive. Ordered ice and drinks menu several times before being delivered to table. Had taster menu and would expect waiter to let us know the dishes when placing on table which is part of the experience.

We were very much looking forward to our special day at Amaya , It was our first experience of a Michelin star restaurant almost 14 years ago ! However we were diss appointed ! The taster menu seemed to set for 2 people if you were non- vegetarian ! So if one of you was a veggie you could not order .. The platter which we ordered one being non- veg and the other being veggie tasted really good and so was the presentation! However, the non- veg platter almost like a 60/40 split between the veggie and non/ vegetarian platter. I asked the service team why ? They gave us an explanation stating that it was a balanced approach and that the menu did not say non- veg platter but the TASTE of AmaYa- .. it kind of does not make sense .. We have been to many starred restaurants and sampled their food . Anyways apart from this the service and food was really good . But for the above experience I would have given 4/5 stars

The food was excellent. Everything was good but the sea bass was out of this world - we ordered a 2nd portion! I really liked having the food served as it had been cooked. Nice decoration and good service as well.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food and ambience!
Beautifully laid out restaurant with excellent service. Staff are attentive and helpful. The food was exquisite, the lobster and desserts stand out as being particularly good. Very good selection of drinks. It is expensive, but well worth it.

We had a fantastic meal last night. It was our first time so we opted for the tasting menu (though not the wines). We enjoyed it all, and seeing what else was on the menu makes us want to make a return visit. Good service, good food, good fun.
Be the first to ReplyConsistently Amazing
I'll keep it short. Absolutely sensational food in every way. I've been to many restaurants over the years especially indian and the food in Amaya is in and different league to anything I've had before. This was the 4th time we've eaten here and it's always consistently amazing. One negative is that for a restaurant of this quality the service doesn't hit the level you'd expect at such a high end establishment
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Indian Food
Went for lunch and chose a set menu. Loved it! Like the concept that you can select a variety of small plates. Really liked being able to see the action in the open kitchen. Service was good and more importantly the food was excellent. The lamb chops were particularly outstanding. We will be back.

This was beyond a doubt the best Indian food Iโve ever had. Presentations were art works themselves and the flavors mingled beautifully. Fantasize about trying everything on the menu.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect Food and Service!
London has the best Indian food and Amaya has the best Indian food in London! This was a new restaurant for our London adventures and it will definitely get a revisit when we return. The foods focus on fried Indian cuisine but it has lots of other items to select too. Everything was spectacular from the flavours to the colours to the feeling of total contentment as we left. Although some comments mention a service issue, our experience was perfect. All the staff seemed to be working well together and ensuring every table had attentive, efficient service. Our plates arrived hot and timely. The plates disappeared without fanfare once we were done. Our server made excellent suggestions to complement our chosen meals and he was totally right. We are definitely foodies and found this restaurant to be an excellent experience of food, visual stimulation and friendly staff. Definitely recommend going to Amaya and enjoying an experience of sheer joy!
Be the first to ReplyBrilliant but bothered by staff issuesโฆ
The food at Amaya is astoundingly good! The service is first rate. But the kitchen is lately pressed to deliver dishes when the place is full, which it nearly always is. We had several lovely courses, but the Chicken Biryani main took nearly an hour to reach our table. Otherwise, a fabulous meal. Iโm confident theyโll get their kitchen issues fixed and be back in perfect form very soon.
Be the first to ReplyGood flavours but terrifying service - uncooked chicken and poor responses
We went for a double birthday celebration with my sister and her boyfriend - โwe loved the flavours. Unfortunately, one of the chicken dishes was undercooked. Myself and my partner thought that it was impossible from a Michelin restaurant, so we proceeded to finish the dish. But when my sister also found hers to be uncooked, we brought it up with the new floor manager. The dish was taken off from our bill, I appreciate it. However, we were not very pleased with the responses from the floor manager. He reassured that the uncooked part was only due to the skewer part, I tried to explain that two extra peopleโs chicken all had the same issue hence more needed to be looked into other than the skewer. I was calmly describing, within 20 seconds I was then shut down immediately, mid sentence, by the manager, โcalm down madamโ. The manager did offer us a replacement dish, which we turned down as we were very full already. We were not asking for a replacement, simply wanted to provide a constructive feedback as we did enjoy the meal up till then. Therefore, we did not appreciate how we were not listened to and the attitude had upset the rest of the meal. We went for the delicious food, also more importantly, the atmosphere and quality from a Michelin restaurant. The experience itself was a bit of a let down and after this whole situation, only a ยฃ22 was taken off the bill, we were very surprised and somewhat disappointed by the service provided.โ I sent the above to the restaurant, but didnโt even receive any responses nor an apology. We are absolutely shocked by their attitude, especially from a Michelin restaurant. The flavours were undoubtedly good, but the service was a complete let down.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful food, unfortunately poor service that spoilt my first Michelin star experience.
I'll start with the positives, the food and wine were delightful. I left the restaurant with the feeling I'd experienced something special. Our waiter was very pleasant and informative. Now for the negatives..... Arriving slightly early for our table, we (a table of 2) were seated immediately and presented with a drinks menu. 15 -20 mins later, after being passed by service staff continuously, we had to ask to order a drink and for a food menu. We ordered 6 dishes, a selection of chutneys, and a nann bread. After finishing the first 3 dishes and being presented with the 4th and 5th dish, I had to ask the server for the chutneys, thinking if I don't there will be no point in having them served. The 6th dish was delivered, no nann bread ever arrived. I mentioned this when I asked for the bill. After settling the bill, I made my concerns apparent to what appeared to be the manager. The only response I received was "I apologise for that". To be honest, not good enough for a Michelin star restaurant. I had travelled quite some distance for this experience to be left feeling underwhelmed and disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Food, Great Service, Such a good find
We were looking for a different twist to an Indian meal, we had been at Wimbledon all day and only just made our booking, they were very accommodation even though we were late. The guy serving us explained the concept and we got stuck in ordering a number of their small taster dishes, these were all excellent and we even reordered more of our favourite ones. We have recommended this place to friends who are visiting London and everyone had been delighted. Cant wait to book back in next time we visit London
Be the first to ReplySecond visit to Amaya
The food was generally good although the raita was poor and the chicken biryani was low on flavour. Service was average and the lighting was too dark. More style than substance here Overall an ok experience.. wonโt return for a third visit.

A restaurant in the restaurant's reception did not provide a response from a restaurant's reception in an unprofessional manner.

Delicious food, certainly not your average Indian restaurant. Small portions, more a sample of each dish which does make it expensive to feel full but all food was exceptional Best black pepper chicken tikka Iโve ever tasted. Naan breads so light and full of flavour too Biryani is not to be missed
Be the first to ReplyNot a great experience
Having been excited about going to Amaya, the waiter explained the menu. I enquired about a gluten free menu but was told that the menu was limited for me. He then informed me that the rani lamb dish was good. I had already informed the waiter that I was interested in vegetarian dishes, but he kept telling me about the rani dish. He then told me that I could have it with nan. Again I informed him that I was gluten free. He told me that I could have roti. He just did not get it. In the end we had 3 starters and one dessert and left. Was very disappointed. The food was good but the waiter kept wanting us to order more then necessary.

Excellent small-plate, grilled food. Everything was delicious, especially the seafood. Great vibe and weโll definitely return when back in London.

Courteous Staff, Delicious food - especially chicken tikka, venison roll, grilled sea bass, sea bream....and the list goes on
Be the first to ReplyFantastic eating experience
From being a regular brick lane Indian restaurant dining fan to eating at such an upmarket version of the same I can say that the experience was much enjoyed.
Be the first to ReplySuperbe restaurant
Delicious food - portion just right. Food a bit spicy though but what you expect in a Indian restaurant. Excellent service!
Be the first to ReplyDelightful food
Food was absolutely delicious. The problems were;
Staff not very helpful, had to ask for menus, had to ask for wine list.
Also, the menu was hard to navigate and when we did order the food came out very randomly, dishes that we expected to be served together, were not served together. Also food was plonked on to the table, no mention of what each plate was.
As I said, food was very good but staff pretty poor
Not sure that Iโd return again
Great All Round Experience
Came here before a long while ago, now I tried again.
So glad I did and took other there, great food the cabbage at the start, the naans and the duck we my particular highlights. We didn't know what to choose so let out most excellent waiter choose it all. He did an amazing job. The cocktails were also great and everything complimented one another. The setting is elegant buy not stuffy, cool decor with people enjoying themselves. Can highly recommend
Different concept. Excellent food
This is a fine dining restaurant and prices to match it. Every portion is for 2 or 4 to share. You order everything and they bring it one after another in quick succession as you finish the previous course. Everything was delicious. Lamb sheek kebab was superb. Oyster with a coconut sauce was very good as well. The grilled prawn is one of the best I have had. Chicken biriyani was very nice. Desserts were very tasty.
The only thing is finding the place. Satnav gets confused as well. A board or something on Motcomb Street may help diners.
Just fantastic.
Great food. The small plates were lovely. Best chicken tikka you can imagine - moist, flavoursome, imaginative. Every plate that followed was equally delicious. Although pricy given the quality of what is on offer excellent value.
Friendly attentive service throughout. Highly recommended.
