Sure, Aspen is one expensive place to visit, and Acquolia won't change your mind about that! It's expensive, but so is every restaurant in the town. I mean, I live in NYC, which is expensive... but not THIS expensive. But what can you do? Prices are what they are in Aspen, and that's just the way it goes. Therefore, for this review, I'm going to put talk of prices aside (although many of the other reviewers have not) and focus on the rest of the experience. First off, let's begin with the service. On the night of my visit, service was impeccable! From the host, to the waiter, to the food runner. Everyone was on their toes and super personable. As for food and drinks, everything was fantastic. Some of the standouts included: - Fried Calamari (with artichokes and zucchini) - wow; what a flavor explosion. The jalea-like dish was fantastic, and there was plenty to serve 2-3 people as an appetizer. Also, both the aioli and marinara sauces that accompanied the dish were super tasty.- Rollini - OMG this appetizer was stellar! Get this for sure. It's kind of like a tubular-shaped calzone with mushrooms and smoked mozzarella (served with an arugula and parmesan salad). I was definitely blown away by this dish and definitely want to learn how to recreate it at home. - Fusilli pasta - Another A+ dish for sure! This one featured artichokes, leeks, wild mushrooms, garlic, ricotta, and olive oil. It was more "light" in nature and very tasty. As for drinks, they were all really good. I started off with an Old Fashioned and then went on to wine with my dinner.Bottom line: This place is super good. If you are in Aspen, try to check this place out (but put price out of your head).
