I don't care much for Las Vegas, but when I have to be
I don't care much for Las Vegas, but when I have to be there for work, I always treat myself to this delicious food. Ethiopian is my favorite cuisine and this place does not disappoint. Seriously, I ate there every day I was in Las Vegas. If you enjoy Ethiopian, you really need to go here and enjoy. Service was great, the food outstanding, and the coffee is always a treat. Enjoy!

The reviews are mixed, so I guess it's hit or miss, but I've always had a good experience. I consider the food quality to be better than some other Ethiopian places I've been to in Vegas. This is my go-to for Ethiopian since Cottage Café closed.
Be the first to ReplyAutomatic 18 percent service charge even for take out.
She charged 17.99 but menu said 15.99. Ordered kitfo special. Average flavor. Overflowing with too much butter. Not coming back.
Be the first to Replythe lady at the bar was very rude ! it doesn't say anywhere
the lady at the bar was very rude ! it doesn't say anywhere that they are 21+ at 90% of their hours so the lady at the bar told me i couldn't eat there because im not 21+ i asked her again because that just sounds crazy and completely unreasonable but she kept saying "no" to every question i was trying to get out but couldn't! overall i wouldn't give them my business but i must share the absurd rule that you cant EAT if you're not 21+ i wasted my time and gas dealing with a rude lady
Be the first to ReplyAvoid!!! Raw chicken.
.. RAW... was served and the lady at the bar refused to do anything about it except offer a dollar discount! She didn't even apologize or anything. The owner and the chef should keep both be ashamed by this lack of proper cooking and service. Also, the injera was wheat and not teff (which is how it is traditionally). Save your money and more importantly, your health, and dine at one of the other many (there's so many in LV) great Ethiopian restaurants in the area.
Be the first to ReplyCharged $33 for 2 veggie platters?? Online it says $11.
99 but 16.50 each is what I paid??? Scam.
Be the first to ReplyService was HORRIBLE they only had about 10 people inside
Service was HORRIBLE they only had about 10 people inside the restaurant and yet we had to keep getting up and ask for service over & over they were sitting behind the bar smoking hookah & drinking. We could have spent so much money for the establishment but got turned off with the service we decided to take our business elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyThis is my go-to joint for Ethiopian food.
My fiancé and I are veg, so we usually end up getting the veggie combo, and it never, ever disappoints. There is a lot lacking in the way of ambiance, but I'm giving it 5 stars based solely on the food. Listen, the service? It's nothing to write home about. The servers have always been very pleasant. It's just usually pretty slow and inattentive. But to be honest, I have experienced this same level of service at many an Ethiopian restaurant, so I sort of just expect it and work around it (I.e. I don't go when I'm absolutely starving and hangry). Every item in the combo platter is amazing and flavorful. The texture is right, the flavors delicious. The injera is some of the best I have ever had. It is extremely sour, which I LOVE. And it is always soft and fresh. Really yummy. The shirowat and the red lentils are incredible! My favorite items by far. But every item is really delish. The atmosphere of the place is way off. I honestly dislike eating in a hookah lounge. I don't like the smoke, and it's way too loud and dark for dinner. Also, the seating arrangement is pretty lacking. There are maybe 3 high top tables with chairs around the outskirts of the space, along with some Ethiopian style hookah tables. There is not a single dinner table to be found in this place. Sometimes they open the adjoining storefront, which is set up like a real restaurant with tables and chairs, a well lit space, and tolerable music levels. But most of the time, this space is closed, and you're stuck with the hookah lounge side. Generally, I appreciate it more during lunch hours than dinner, as these issues only start when the hookahs come out at night and the space turns into a nightclub. Definitely recommend this place for the food, though. Top notch!
Be the first to ReplyWorst customer services This establishments does not treat
Worst customer services This establishments does not treat their customers fairly ( unless you are Ethiopian) . I went in there to order some food noticed it recently got converted to a hookah lounge so I was going to get it to go but I seen that there were other customers there (Ethiopians ) eating with their kids. I asked the waitress if I could also sit and enjoy my food while it was still hot but she said I couldn't because I had my 1 year old with me. I asked her why the other customers were allowed to sit and she did not have a valid answer just that I couldn't. Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth most likely will not be returning I'll take my money elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyAbyssinia's customer service is usually poor and sometimes
Abyssinia's customer service is usually poor and sometimes almost intentionally bad. The food is so good, that I've overlooked the poor service in the past. However, recently as a party of five, my table ordered 4 combination plates and 5 bottled waters for a total menu price of about $67. Then the bill came as the server's handwritten ticket with no itemized prices, just a total cost of $88 penned onto the bottom of the page. When we asked to pay individually for the items each person ordered, the server only divided the non-itemized $88 by 5. Overall, the experience seemed very shady and intentionally non-transparent. In the end, we didn't put up much of a fight, and that's our fault. We paid it and left quietly, all of us feeling ripped off. I will miss their food, but I will never eat at Abyssinia again.

No vegan options at all do not come here our waitress told me nothing is vegan. I read lots of reviews on here about vegan options so I came here for no reason because I'm a vegan.
