solid meal, especially for the price - the 5 course menu
solid meal, especially for the price - the 5 course menu for $87 is a deal. N/A cocktails and wine btg were ok, the bread is amazing (ask for extras), and the dishes were presented well and were tasty. Desserts were another highlight. Service was quick and friendly, restaurant is a little darker/moody but nice with an open kitchen in the middle.
Came here because we heard a lot of great things.
I thought the service was very good, we got assistance with our drinks and food decently quickly. I did like all the different courses, but I wasn't completely impressed. I really enjoyed the prawns and there was a tasty tomato jam of some sorts on one of the dishes. However, I didn't think some or the dishes were worth the hype. I know the menu is seasonal so maybe I will give it another try. I do recommend still checking out this spot to give it a shot!
Great vibes, did make us wait a bit for our table even
Great vibes, did make us wait a bit for our table even after getting there a bit late. Food was great, some courses were not as memorable but overall great experience and flavors! The staff were great and welcoming. I will be coming back again as this is one of the best value tasting menus in SF
Very gourmet.
Very unique tastes you won't find at regular restaurants. Dishes were all well made, but they're small. So not sure if you'll feel full at the end. But great experience. A well deserved Michelin restaurant.
The service was great at this restaurant.
We like to try many restaurants and this rated high above a Michelin star restaurant in New York City. The food was fantastic. We did the 7 course menu with wine pairing. Would recommend this test to everyone. They have a 5 course menu that is amazing as well.
7 Adam's has excellent service and a moody interior
7 Adam's has excellent service and a moody interior fantastic for a date night or anniversary. The staff were very attentive, cleaning out between courses and swapping for new silverware. We were so excited to try their 5 course tasting menu but at the end of it couldn't think of any stand out flavors besides the Japanese milk bread which was such a delicious bite. The pastas did not have much of a flavor to remember, nor the halibut I would say. The pork loin was tasty with the plum sauce. I would say it's worth it to go once for the overall experience but if it weren't for the photos I took I couldn't really remember any dish standing out.
The pork loin was melt-in-your mouth tender and the
The pork loin was melt-in-your mouth tender and the bread/butter and dessert were outstanding. The service is stellar and I left full. A tad loud.
We had a delightful 5 course meal at 7 Adams.
Everything was excellent. They were very attentive about food sensitivities as well. We want to go back!
This was an experience! I thought the food was well cooked
This was an experience! I thought the food was well cooked and presented, and the service was great. I do have one gripe - we came for our anniversary and no one asked us if we were celebrating anything special. We saw other people with cards from the restaurant, and we made a reservation ahead of time. We also received no confirmation for the reservation. I was confused why the seven course can't be changed when the cheaper five course option can be. This place has a Michelin star and I see why. The halibut was a stand out and the food was tasty, but I wasn't a fan of the large amounts of caviar in the first dish (a plus for others). I recommend having staff ask if we have any special occasion celebrating as we were very dressed up and obviously not just in street clothes enjoying a fine dining meal.
We checked out 7 Adams for our team dinner this past spring
We checked out 7 Adams for our team dinner this past spring and the short version, it was fabulous! They hosted 10 of us comfortably in their back room, which seems to convert from a patio in the warmer months to a covered space with heaters in the colder months. We got the full treatment at this Michelin-rated restaurant, from a five course prixe fix menu, with a combination of fixed and "choice of" for a few courses to make sure you really enjoyed the entire experience. Their menu is seasonal, so it does change, but our line up included: Rudy Streak Salad Hiramasa Crudo White Asparagus Tortellini OR Porcini Tagliatelle OR Saffron Risotto Seared Miso Black Cod OR Pork Loin (We did have an option to upgrade to waygu) Last, but not least a Kitchen Sink Sundae or Rhubarb Olive Oil Cake I really enjoyed the salad and crudo and the unmentioned bread was melt in your mouth perfection. The salad and crudo were fabulous, fresh, flavorful and balanced. I opted for the risotto, which was lovely, but had a strong clam flavor, still good, but may not be for everyone. My colleague/friend and I shared the black cod miso and waygo. The cod was good, but the waygu was stand out and everything you want waygu to be. To really top off the experience we also had a round of caviar, with champagne - chefs kiss* They don't have cocktails, just beer and wine, but a nice list offering. For dessert I had an opportunity to try both the kitchen sink and rhubarb olive oil cake. I don't really like cake, but olive oil cake is a whole different ballgame and 7 Adams did not disappoint. It was refreshing and such a perfect ending to a wonderful meal. The kitchen sink was good, but pretty standard classic sundae! TLDR: Everything was fabulous, the entire menu had a great and unique flavors, which is exactly what I want when eating out. The portions were generous and great portions for the set price of $125. Service matched the wonderful menu and it's a perfect, vibey spot for a date night, special occasion or honestly just because!
Incredible food, great ambience and service!
Absolutely LOVED our experience at 7 Adams and can't wait to go back. The food was exciting, innovative but still approachable. What I love too is that you can pick your own adventure and upgrade as you choose. This is a great place to have a true foodie dinner with your food friends/partner OR go for a meal with friends/family/co-workers who aren't too familiar with fine dining. The wine list was also fantastic & I love that corkage is only $35 for the 1st bottle. The staff (especially Jared!) was so kind and accommodating, and we truly didn't want to leave. Best part was that Chef Serena was serving us too! How rare is it that you get to interact with a chef in that way?! We tried the 5 course seasonal menu and can't wait to go back and try the chef's counter.
One Of The Best Restaurants In North America
Our meal, on a Monday night in October, was the best since the last time we were in Paris, reminiscent of the Michelin starred restaurant Granite in the 2nd Arrondissement. The only discordant note was the male server in charge of us. Void of any personality, his disinterest was palpable. A kitchen producing food of this quality deserves servers who are passionate about this food. I gave him $20 to tip the kitchen staff. He nodded, walked to the back, and never said another word. In contrast, the tall woman in charge of the front was fantastic, adding class to 7 Adams, folding my wife's napkin as she walked away from our table. The set menu at $87.00 per person was a steal, with five superb dishes being served. Everything tasted interesting but also delicious, unlike many innovative restaurants we have dined at, including Alinea in Chicago. Recounting what we specifically ate would be superfluous because the preparation was beyond my comprehension. Look at the photos of the menus. Again, the only unsettling aspect of 7 Adams was the service. Our server and the people bringing the dishes were perfunctory, and their descriptions clipped, the kitchen's passion absent from their persona. 7 Adams deserved more, as it is one of the best restaurants in the country.
Their tasting menu is so fantastic and such an amazing
Their tasting menu is so fantastic and such an amazing value!! I am still in shock over how reasonable the price is. $87 for a 5-course tasting menu. Every dish was exquisite!! It was such a lovely and light summer menu. We started with a fresh hokkaido scallop (so delicious!), then chilled corn veloute, then a choice of 3 different pastas. I chose the cacio e pepe ravioli with black truffles, which was a $25 supplement, but SO WORTH IT! That was probably the standout dish of the evening. Then entrees, I had the vegetarian - they are very accommodating to vegetarians, I'm not even a vegetarian but I opted for that entree and it was delicious. Others at my table loved the seared black cod. I'm sure the wagyu ribeye is fantastic too! And then dessert was wonderful. The food is not heavy so you won't feel overstuffed, but you'll definitely be full. Service was warm and professional. And the complimentary rolls with butter at the beginning are SO GOOD! I will definitely be back to check out their fall and winter menus. Highly recommend.
Wow! This was our first visit to 7 Adams.
We'd eaten at Marlena several times, and they've really upped their game. Everything was perfect: food, wine, service, our waiter's recommendations, vibe, and value for the quality. We'll be back!
The service was top-notch, and the food was excellent.
We ate outside on the small patio, which is covered and shielded from the wind. There were heaters that worked very well.
7 Adams provides high fine dining experience at a
7 Adams provides high fine dining experience at a reasonable price! From the dark simple exterior, I was pleasantly surprised by the bright modern design of the restaurant. I especially loved the modular lighting fixture behind the bar that makes the whole dining area pop. The chefs are alumni of the Michelin starred Marlena restaurant. Similar to Marlena, 7 Adams offers a relatively affordable prix fixe menu where diners enjoy a five-course meal for $87. With fees and taxes, the price comes out to be more than advertised but still for a date night or special occasion, definitely worth the price. Although I could explain the dishes, I had the menu does change on a seasonal basis so this does warrant repeat visits! I thought all but one of the five dishes were *chef's kiss* so definitely good enough to recommend and would love to take my friends to if they come around. Plus, the service was excellent from the presentation and the explanation of the dishes were clear and simple to understand. Parking is limited around the area so Uber/Lyft is probably for the best. Or if you are comfortable with walking, there is possibly some free parking further away. Overall, highly recommend 7 Adams and can't wait to visit again!
Really Great.
We loved Marlena, but thought 7 Adams was better. Every dish was very very solid. Slightly more conventional dishes than Marlena (to our pleasure). No foams or strange ingredients. Distinct delicious flavors and textures. Just really good inventive high quality dishes. The Milk Bread was a great start. We joked with our waiter that when the night is over the kitchen staff must be rushing to the extra milk breads. He said, "no, really, we are". Lovely low key restaurant and they are staffed to the gills so great service and you get eye contact and a nice hello and goodbye from every staff person you pass. Sea Bass: A+. And, like Marlena, the desserts are beyond great.
I like to think I'm a foodie but in reality I love to eat.
The service, staff and food is 5 star at 7 Adam. It was great at Marlena but I think it's elevated and has set a very high bar. The food is presented for each course with an explanation of what is before you. It's so beautifully plated. The aroma is superb. The taste is Wow! I recommend getting one or both supplements if the intrigue you. Our nite we chose the A5 Wagyu ribeye. It was so indescribable, we shared plates so we could experience the whole offerings of the evening. My wife saved her A5 Wagyu to be the last bite so she could savour the mouth feel and taste it was so good. We can't wait to return again.
Great meal at 7 Adams
We had not been to a new restaurant in San Francisco in several years. We were very pleased with our visit to 7 Adams. The food was very well prepared. The pacing of the meal was appropriate. The wine menu was appropriate to the food that was offered. We would highly recommend checking out this restaurant.
Great dinning experience at 7 Adams.
Casual and elegance in perfect balance. The restaurant is small but in an intimate way rather than feeling cramped. The five course menu was very tasty and the perfect amount of food for me. The first two courses were probably our favorites. Main courses felt a bit less complex but did offer a more expected flavor profile. The fish and pork were cooked to perfection. Desert was pretty good too. Wait staff was very kind and attentive but also laid back and easy going. I appreciate the staff doing their best to accommodate my dietary restrictions.
26% junk fees, mandatory on top of your bill.
This is one of the worst offenders I've seen so far in the city. Food was decent although they forgot about our dessert.
Solid food cooked with evident skill and plated
Solid food cooked with evident skill and plated attractively. It's clear the owners and staff take care and pride in their house so it's unfortunate that I found the flavors were not new or distinctive. For example, the "corn veloute," although creamy and smooth and dotted with various oils and microscopically sliced vegetables, could not escape tasting like a regular corn chowder. The cuttlefish (black ink) pasta cost $20 in addition to the prix fixe of the tasting menu, but cuttlefish isn't expensive. At 7 Adams' high prices, I cannot bring myself to go back. Note that there is only a tasting menu at this time (and a far more expensive chef's table selection) and that the required gratuity and various taxes add 40% to the bill. The dining room is head-splittingly noisy; the heated outdoor space is pleasant and much quieter.
Went here last week and the food was excellent! The service
Went here last week and the food was excellent! The service was also great. This is a good deal for a tasting menu at under $100 (pre tax and tip). I would say I was about 85% full after the meal. The only unfortunate outcome was that me and one other person in my group got minor food poisoning the next morning (we hadn't eaten or drank anything else together that day so can only attribute it to this meal).

This was our first time at 7 Adams, and it was a wonderful experience. The service was excellent and the 5-course prix fixe was delicious. Our favorites: hokkaido scallop, corn veloute, and english pea cappelletti. We both felt that the weakest item was the berkshire port collar, which we found dry, once the sauce was gone. It was, however, nicely lean. The meal, at $87/person, is a great value compared to other multi-course prix fixe menus in San Francisco. The patio is very nice--comfortable on a cold, windy day. We'll be back.

The bread rolls they give you to start are warm, buttery, bliss. We loved each course and it felt like a great deal for such a high quality bar. I imagine the prices will eventually increase as it gets more popular. I also absolutely loved the winter citrus dessert. The sommelier also gave us a great wine suggestion!
I wanted to love this because the menu looked so good but
I wanted to love this because the menu looked so good but everything except the dessert lacked in flavor. Tiny portions...the avocado thing with the scallop tasted like Safeway guacamole dip, the bread they served tasted like it was also from a Safeway bakery. The risotto was very overcooked and bland, I couldn't even taste any bottarga. Fish was cooked well but not that tasty to me. This was so overpriced for the experience and I feel bad writing this review because the staff was super friendly and nice, and the space is pretty. The plating of each dish was really beautiful, but it was all so underwhelming for me except for the chocolate dessert which was actually phenomenal. If they can get their other dishes to meet that wow factor this place would be amazing. I'm glad others seemed to enjoy it but I did not have that experience unfortunately.
I came in with rather high expectations because of all the
I came in with rather high expectations because of all the accolades I had heard about 7 Adams and it unfortunately did not live up to them. I struggled whether to give 3 or 4 stars here because everything was fine but had room for improvement. I landed on 3 stars because at the end of the day, 7 Adams is billed as a fine dining experience but the experience didn't feel so fine. I feel bad giving this a 3 star review because the kitchen and staff were clearly hustling hard and the whole operation was like a beautiful dance. The food was beautifully presented and all the elements cooked well but lackluster in flavor. The milk bread felt a little underdone and like it couple be a little more fluffy. The scallop course was gorgeous but the ingredients felt decorative rather than additive and needed a little more zing. The asparagus course was fine but nothing special. The risotto dish called to me because I love bottarga and morels and the dish was described to me as flavors of the sea due to the phytoplankton, dulse, and bottarga but the Parmesan was so overwhelming that it tasted like a regular cheesy risotto. The pork was possibly the standout dish for me as the richness and depth of the sauce added another layer to the tender pork collar and I enjoyed the textural contrast and flavors of the breakfast sausage. The other aspect where 7 Adams failed to deliver a fine dining experience was in their service. While I'm absolutely grateful that 7 Adams now accommodates single diners at the bar, I wonder if the experience would have been better at a table. I pulled up to my seat at the bar right as the staff was explaining the menu in detail to the woman already seated there. Throughout the evening, I was made aware of how lacking the service was because of the contrast in the attentiveness provided to the guest to my right. No one bothered to explain the menu to me. Eventually, someone came over and asked if I had any questions, and because of that, I thought perhaps they had different waiters/waitresses per person at the bar. Nah, it was just that my person was inattentive to what appeared to certain people. (I noticed the same inattentive treatment to the only other people of color at the bar). There were some details about the menu I wish I had known, such as that the pork collar was sous vide, and only found out later because I heard the wait person describing it to other people at the bar. For almost every course, the lady to my right was asked how things were. I was only asked if I was done. To be fair, most of the other staff were lovely but something felt off about the cadence and cohesiveness of service. At times, it felt no different than dining at a hotel bar. Btw, 7 Adams is billed as an affordable tasting menu because the listed price is $87 but (and I'm sure this is not a shock to anyone), I did spend around $200 after adding wines, surcharges, tax, and the automatic 20% gratuity. There are a couple of supplemental options on the menu so the price can add up.
I wish I could time travel and go back to when I first took
I wish I could time travel and go back to when I first took a bite into the fish at this place! Perfectly tender, flavorful, fresh fish, and amazingly paired with the sauce. I think the food here was definitely well-done and all the flavor profiles were so well-rounded and meticulously thought through. You definitely get a big bang for your Buck!! Their wine was also really good! The service was great. They took our jackets and bags to hang for us, they consistently filled our water, and did a great job explaining each dish and what to expect. The inside was really well designed. I could tell they thought about the color scheme, and it just made for a nice environment. I'd definitely recommend this place for a special occasion or to meet up with some folks! Get a reservation in advance!
Definitely worth the experience to try a fine dining
Definitely worth the experience to try a fine dining experience from a Michelin-starred chef for $87 pp. Reservation is required. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Bathroom is super clean, although there is only one. When we got seated, the staff explained the five-course tasting menu set-up, and detailed each of the courses. There wasn't too long of a wait between each course, but it felt longer because we were all so hungry! Initially, I was worried I wouldn't be full with the first three courses coming out in small portions, but the entree filled all of us up, to a good amount (not overly full), so I was satisfied with the portions. Our five-course tasting menu for May 12th consisted of: 0. Complimentary Milk Bread with Butter 1. Cured Hiramasa (yellowtail) 2. Asparagus (with hazelnut vinaigrette, nettle, & farro chip) 3. English Pea Cappelletti OR Phytoplankton Risotto 4. Seared Black Cod OR Berkshire Pork Collar 5. Spiced Chocolate OR Spring Forward (cake with coconut sorbet & poached rhubarb) The complimentary milk bread was really good - soft, sweet and just melts in your mouth! It was slightly salted on top, and really delightful with the butter. I also enjoyed the first two courses, but when the risotto came out, the flavors just blew my taste buds. It was amazing - my absolute favorite out of all the courses. I didn't try the cappelletti, but I heard it was amazing as well. The seared cod was good as well. Surprisingly, the pork was thicker than I expected, so it filled our stomachs up quickly. I enjoyed the chocolate dessert way more than the spring forward, as I was not a fan of the rhubarb.
Wow. The only thing good about this place is the people.
Wow. The only thing good about this place is the people. Waiter et al were wonderful. Five small course with no flavor, tiny wine pours from mediocre wines then for the finale, a bill that adds a 20% tip on the taxes and then all the joy, a 6% surcharge on the whole bill. Race to try the place because it won't be around long.
A very affordable tasting menu that boasts some outstanding
A very affordable tasting menu that boasts some outstanding entrees and desserts. Some great features I noticed: Gender neutral restrooms (1 stall) Had to look up many menu items for a lot of the Italian terms. It was fun and educational! Menu is so soft! New cutlery for each course. Staff was always prepared and courteous. Intimate yet chic setting. Geison Dealcoholized Sparkling Brut Nice bubbly. Crisp taste. Japanese Milk Bread Rolls with House Butter Lightly salted on top. Creamy butter. Incredibly soft roll. Hokkaido Scallop Tangy green sauce. Nutty on the bottom. Fresh possibly fruit on top. Tender scallop. All in all fantastic. Asparagus Hazelnut vinaigrette, which is actually creamy. Comes with two crackers. Flavored with a red spice. The moistness of the asparagus pairs nicely with the bite of the crackers. English Pea Cappelletti Hearty pasta. Crunchy Parmesan. Distinct broth flavor. Pulled together, the items make a very cohesive dish. Seared Black Cod Amazing. Citrus and cream sauce is delectable. Fish is so tender with crispy skin. Spring Forward A great blend of flavors to make a refreshing treat. I'll have to come back another season to try the changing menu!
Affordable Tasting Menu
A place that just kept popping up on lists of best Bay Area restaurants I had to put it on my agenda in San Francisco. Glad I did. I read and heard great things about the chefs which was a plus. A 5 course tasting menu that actually came with a few options to choose from, nice touch. I was also celebrating my birthday and was greeted with a birthday card along with my menu. I opted for the smoked ricotta cappelletti ($65 supplement) by accident along with the berkshire pork collar and winter citrus for dessert. They brought out the milk bread and butter 10/5 and OMG it was sublime, one of the top five breads that I've ever eaten, probably top three. What a way to start a meal. I could have eaten a dozen of them. First course was hokkaido scallop w/ roasted kombu, hazelnut, & cara cara. 3.5/5 It was nice, nothing wrong with it, just not memorable compared to all other courses. Second course was winter squash veloute w/ red endive, wagyu vinaigrette, & crรจme fraรฎche 5/5 I'm not a soup person but this was really astounding to me. Third course I chose the smoked ricotta cappelletti w/ white truffle, poached new crop chestnut, & parmesan (supplemental $65) 4/5 I actually meant to order the roasted cauliflower cavatelli, but this didn't disappoint. Besides with truffles how can you miss? For the fourth course I chose the berkshire pork collar w/ castelfranco, king richard leek, & ruby streak. 4.5/5 So very tender and full of flavor. yukon gold potato terrine, black garlic mayonnaise 5/5 Fifth and final course was dessert. Now I am a chocolate lover so if there is anything with chocolate I'm gonna get it. So there was chocolate & rye but my server insisted that I try the winter citrus, swears by it. So against my better judgment I get it. The winter citrus is graham cracker, yogurt mousse, & mandarin sherbet 5/5 So glad I got it, it was the second best thing after the milk bread. So after a great meal this was an excellent way to close it out except I was given a scoop of Chef Serena Chow Fisher's Jack & Remi ice cream, cocoa lavender flavor 5/5 I asked my server about it and he lets me know I can get it from DoorDash or at Lukeโs Local Grocery but unfortunately I wasnโt able to pick up a pint before I left the Bay Area. I would like to congratulate Chefs Serena Chow Fisher and David Fisher on opening 7 Adams and wishing continued success. I would also like to thank them for having a great restaurant with an affordable tasting menu available to everyone. I did have a chance to briefly speak them before I left. Also thanks to the wonderful staff and my server, Jason
Date Night midweek
My husband and I have a weekly date night which gives us the opportunity to try out new places. 7 Adams may be new and wonderful, but it is actually the new adventure of chefs who had a place that we loved previously. The Prix Fixe simplifies the process and I, for one, am enjoying that more restaurants are heading in this direction. The starters were so delicious and fresh tasting. The endive in the soup added just the right balance of crunch and bitter. I could have made the meal of just that. Of course the milk bread is also another side bite that could be a meal. Be sure to order it. The pork was delicious but the fish was amazing. The menu changes which is another plus that we can go again and still be well fed and content. The service was impeccable with attention to detail and service front and center. A positive experience that we will be able to do again.
