Great food; great ambiance; great service!
My husband and I had dinner here the night before we left Amsterdam to return home. It was the BEST way to finish our trip. Everything was spectacular!! My husband had the 5 course “chef surprise” and it did not disappoint. The cauliflower appetizer was my favourite. I would love the recipe!! I can’t say enough positive things about both the waitress, Simone, and the maître d’, and Liam, the chef. We have told lots of people about our experience. It will be top of our list when we go back!
Best days of this place are in the past for this place
We were very disappointed. Food presentation was without enthusiasm. Service very slow. We ordered 6 course surprise menu. Main course (duck) was un-chewable. I demanded to replace it. The rest of dishes were not impressive. On top of everything we counted only 5 course dinner but Bill was for 6 course. The glory of this place is obviously in the past.
Great restaurant
We ended up in the restaurant passing by and we first tried Genever tasting, which was very nice. They to this on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 2am. I couldn’t have enjoyed the authentic Dutch atmosphere in the heart of Amsterdam more. The staff is incredibly attentive and welcoming. The food is delicious and I sincerely recommend this experience to everyone.
Awful Tall Waiter
God what we experienced last night in this restaurant. This tall General Waiter who took our order is the worst I have ever come across in my life. He demanded that I not touch my cell phone when he was taking an order. Except he didn't kick us out because I went outside 3 times to smoke a cigarette. He became furious because he was talking to us in our mother tongue. He literally kicked us out. Two 45 year old couples who have been to many countries in Europe and to many restaurants made us feel like 18 year olds. This Lord is dangerous. I feel sorry for the restaurant which is relatively good
Fascinating Building but Unpleasant Experience
This historic building/restaurant had decent french leaning food and the wine selection was good. However the staff was, for the most part, jaded, contemptuous and rude. We were told that it is under new ownership so perhaps they will address this unwelcoming attitude.
Back to the past
In a location that takes you back to the 1600s, the wooden tables are located in small rooms with leather walls, little light, just enough to taste the revisited typical Dutch dishes. Friendly and professional waiters.

Great tasting menu, we had 5 course one, loved it! The place is really hard to get reservation, we booked 1 week in advance, still the only slot left is at 8:45 PM. even it is a late dinner, we are so glad that we did it.
Good food, terrible service
We returned here for the first time in 30 years with very fond memories and high hopes. Weren't we disappointed! I should point out at the outset that the restaurant was not particularly busy. Having been ignored inside the doorway for some considerable time we were eventually shown to a table. Following another long wait for menus, we made our choice, and following another very long wait one of our party actually got up and sought out a waiter and we finally managed to order. The food was very good but basically the kitchen was completely let down by possibly the worst and most complacent service I have ever received in any restaurant, and certainly in any restaurant with the aspirations and prices of this one. My lasting regret is that we didn't just give up and leave before ordering, however I don't think anyone would have noticed.

We wanted to eat typical Dutch cuisine, which to her surprise it was divine. A sophisticated cuisine full of finesse with regional foods. A terrific evening with fabulous food and outstanding service. Ambience was lovely and the staff could not do enough to help us enjoy the event
The interiors are beautiful, yes.
Everything else was below what I expected when paying the prices that are charged. The time between starters and mains was exceptionally long (we were yawning). The food tasted average (one might argue that that is Dutch food- but not when you are paying a lot more). The service was very average, drink orders were forgotten and an order of sides was forgotten. In my honest opinion, I would not recommend this restaurant based on the food and service. I find it strange that the restaurant has an average rating of 4.5 stars. I hope for others that they don't have the same experience we had.
It's not often that I get to dine in a living museum.
The Rembrandt and other artwork and etchings transported me into what I imagined Amsterdam was in its heyday. Worth the prix fixe and wine pairing. They don't reveal the menu in advance but present each course in a wonderful choreography. The dishes were well prepared and they did a good job complementing them with the wine and each other. I happened to be dining alone that evening and lacked any urge to glare at my phone. That says a lot for me!
We sat down for 2 hours before our main was served.
Service was so slow even for Europe standards. We ordered steak tartare and a soup for the starters. Soup was too salty - I could not even finish. Steak tartare was fine. Overall the meal wasn't expensive, but not cheap and I have to think you can find better value and quality elsewhere. The one positive is the ambiance - has a cool historic feel to it. The mains were also quite good once it came out - we got the cod and tenderloin. Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant. Seems like people had better luck if they just ordered one of the pre-set menus

Once we walked in, it was like we stepped into a time machine Built in the 1600s with original leather, delft blue tiles, & Amsterdam maps visited by many famous people including Walt Disney, Givenchy... Huge autograph book since 1950s, find the original Alice in Wonderland drawings! Uses locally sourced seasonal produce a bit of French - trained chefs , to elevate dutch food beyond meat & potatoes Incredible service , thoughtfulness & care 4 course meal for €49 that includes chefs specials that are NOT on the alla carte menu - celery root - flat iron steak - cauliflower soup - sweet & sour jus dessert from a local Amsterdam candy Sourdough bread with salted butter €5.5 Veal pastrami €17 roasted Farm raised chicken €27 panna cotta in a shape of a clog on a historical blue tile €13.5 Selection of cheese €15.5 Everything was absolutely delicious!! Highly recommend their tasting course . Could not find one knock against this place.
It is such a special place with a storied history, warm & cozy atmosphere and tasty food. Half my party got the chef's menu, while I opted for a La carte catch of the day. I should've ordered an appetizer or two so I didn't sit awkwardly watching them eat. I nibbled on bread and toasted lentils which were little bites of salty joy. Wines and beers were lovely. Everything was great. Our server gave us a hard time for being Americans nerding out and taking photos but had a great sense of humor about it. He was knowledgeable of the food, the wine, the restaurant. We must've warmed him over by the end of the night because he brought us after dinner shots of something like advocaat. Can't wait to return to Amsterdam, and will happily spend another evening here.

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Yes unfortunately they are finding more and more ways to lock up sellers money. Sell thru rate, refund rate, limiting withdrawal amounts ler day and per month (which for me are the same number which makes no sense). Lot of sellers leaving as you can see from the lifetime sales not really increasing. Most posts on here are frustrated sellers which is not a recipe for success

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
