Angelina Paris Reviews from The Last Year
We were asked to leave because we were not spending enough
My daughter was enthusiastic about going to Angelino to try the hot chocolate and my son was also interested in trying it. At nine Euros a cup my wife and I decided not to order a drink so we could afford it. The important thing was that we could allow the children to enjoy it. We were asked to leave because we were not ordering enough drinks. This was insensitive and the very opposite of goo customer service, particularly during a cost of living crisis.
Gorgeous breakfast
We went early morning for breakfast, no queue at around 9am so got straight in but a decent sized queue by around 10am which seems to be the case for most of the day then. Food was lovely and hot chocolate to die for!
Great hot chocolate and pastry
The Mont Blanc and hot chocolate are delicious and worth the visit. The place itself is kind of weary and has lost it’s charm. Very tourustic, but Angelina is a must if it’s your first time in Paris.
Don't miss this experience
Fabulous experience They will (if you ask nicely, store your small cases while you dine (free). We were not pressured to buy set courses and oatmilk was provided on request. Not as intimidating as we expected which was lovely. Great place to soak in some authenticity.
Best cafe in Paris
This cafe is absolutely amazing! You have to wait a bit outside, but it is worth the wait. The tea room is absolutely beautiful and very posh! The food is incredible and the hot chocolate was unbelievable. This is a very good cafe to visit.🤗😁

Not worth the hype :( Angelina Cafe is a very popular and viral cafe in Paris known for their hot chocolate. It is also popular for its Mont Blanc and other desserts. I waited in line for a little less than an hour for a table. Do note, that you can go in and bypass the line if you just want to order to-go/ just grab a pastry. There was a long line when I went. The interior of the cafe is BEAUTIFUL. It is so pretty and the ambiance was amazing. The decoration was so pretty, coquette, and perfect for brunch or a snack. The property is also quite large with two floors and many tables to accomodate the crowd. Food: Unfortunately, I do not have good things to say about the food. I ordered the hot chocolate, a paris brest, and a croissant. The hot chocolate was indeed rich and decadent, but it was almost like drinking melted chocolate. To be fair I am not a chocolate person, so perhaps others will like it. Actually yes, I will give Angelina a point for this one because I do think chocolate lovers would like this drink. It was very rich and creamy. The croissant was not great. It was dry, not buttery nor fluffy on the inside. I didn't try the paris brest, but my friend said it was just okay. Service: Service was good I wish it was worth the hype, but unfortunately it was not.
Very unique place.
The environment is very beautiful with all the different furniture although the food doesn't have many options. This is a very good brunch spot with delicious macarons. I tired the hot chocolate and it was pretty good, but kind of gave me a headache considering how thick it is. If you're looking for a cool experience, you should come here as it is a very nice place in Paris.
Waited 20 minutes, but it was worth it.
Beautiful inside, the hot chocolate or mocha is amazing. Unlike anything I have ever had before, very rich.
Fun, must do experience
We had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes, but it was worth it and service was prompt once we were seated. This is a fun, must-do experience if you have the time on your visit! Of course get the famous hot chocolate. The pastry was good, not great but good. The service was great and waiter impeccably dedicated to service. This is more for the experience and to check off the list.

I was very excited to come here with my family of 5 and was SO disappointed. After waiting in a long line for about 30 minutes we had to wait another 20 to order. We all ordered different things and every single one took forever to come out and COLD! We each ordered the famous hot chocolate (which was also cold) and it only came with a small amount of whipped cream. Lastly, we could not find the waitress to pay the check for a long time. Overall- I was so excited about going here but wow I really don't understand the hype. Overly expensive food that is cold and horrible service. 0/10 would never come back..

Hot chocolate is definitely worth the hype!! There was a line outside for the tea room, But you can just enter if you're taking things to go. Went in. Picked up three hot chocolates and just sipped it outside there itself. It was rich and creamy and smooth and just overall beautiful! Definitely recommend to anyone coming to Paris.
Crazy good.
. very quick dessert and cappuccino. All so good! Must try and definitely come back.

My first patisserie experience in Paris, great service and fantastic eclair. Highly recommend this spot, easy location to access and extensive menu.
Overrated and service is not good.
Our waiter was in a hurry to get our orders and we can't ask for any suggestions because you have to look at the menu and decide on your own. I get that but it's our first time and I was just asking so I don't miss out. Food was just ok. Nothing special.
Don't go here if you are American.
They will seat you because you waited in line but then they will ignore you. French patrons who sat at the same time will get their order taken and food delivered before you even get an acknowledgement. Better to spend your money at a business that appreciated clients no matter where the money comes from or what nationality
This establishment garnered a significant following owing
This establishment garnered a significant following owing to its esteemed reputation as one of the pioneering purveyors of Mont Blanc desserts. Upon arrival, we immediately observed the extensive queue winding around the building, a testament to its popularity. Despite the daunting prospect of a lengthy wait, our determination to experience Angelina's offerings propelled us forward. Remarkably, the line progressed swiftly, mitigating the perceived duration of our wait. Welcoming and attentive staff provided an opportunity to appreciate the interior ambiance before seating us. While a preference for a more spacious table along the perimeter was noted, we found ourselves accommodated at a compact central arrangement. Opting to explore the savory menu offerings, I indulged in the summer squash ravioli adorned with parmesan sauce and truffle oil--an exquisite culinary delight that surpassed my expectations. Even the Fish and Chips, despite my usual aversion to seafood, impressed with its robust seasoning and harmonious flavors. The Mont Blanc dessert, a culinary masterpiece, boasted a unique twist from previous encounters, albeit retaining its delightful essence. Its sweetness encouraged the pairing with tea, balancing the flavors impeccably. Additionally, the Choux Puff emerged as another standout, further cementing this establishment's status as a must-visit destination during future excursions to Paris.
Enjoy a meal at this wonderful place!
My wife had heard that Angelina is THE place for hot chocolate. We had just finished touring one of the museums nearby so we walked over to Angelina for some food (and hot chocolate). The line was long but it moved pretty quickly. And it was well worth the wait. The interior is gorgeous. The staff is wonderful. And the food is AMAZING! My wife had a croissant sandwich with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. I had their croque madame. Wow! And I think you can guess what my wife would say about the hot chocolate. Haha! Eat at Angelina. It’s spectacular. Enjoy!
The place used to be great but ruined by hype
I first came to Angelina many years ago and have been wanting to repeat the experience. While back then it was amazing, my experience today turned out quite mediocre. The quality of the desserts (I took millefeuille, like at my first time) is very mediocre now. Definitely not worth the wait. The cookie I got at a random cookie store was way more delicious (and twice as cheap). Also I don’t understand how ordinary tea can cost 8 euros.
Chocolat Chaud! Best ever!
The hot chocolate has a flavor that is rich and none like I’ve ever had before. The food is great but go for the hot chocolate.
Yall, the breakfast here was okay.
If you're coming just for the hot chocolate, it's not as pretty or impressive as Carrette. Carrette wins in the hot chocolate for me. The interior was beautiful but as you got to the back back near the restrooms, it seemed to have been forgotten. The decor wasn't that nice, it felt cramped and that's where we were seated. I don't know why but the pastries on the menu are more expensive by 2-4 euros than the SAME pastries in the bakery display shop. There was a separate line JUST for the bakery. I'd recommend you do that instead, save yourself the euros and time of waiting in the long line to dine in. The mont-blanc is one of their iconic desserts and it's pretty but the taste wasn't there and didn't finish it. The rest of the breakfast was okay but nothing too special. Yall know the coffee in France is small and expensive. it wasn't even espresso. I asked our server if they did refills and he's like "no. you just buy another coffee". LOL. Also, our server was pushy at the end and made us give him a tip. The bill didn't have tip included and we were speaking in Spanish and our mistake was discussing this while he was standing there and he knew the Spanish word for 'tip' and was like, "how much do you want to add?" (while holding the card machine in his hand so he could enter the amount. HOW AWKWARD!!!!! Across the street was the gardens which were lovely to walk through and you're close to the Louvre too. If you reallyyyy truly want to try this place, just go to the bakery :)
A bit overrated
Beautiful location and good service. The hot chocolate is too decadent. Recommend getting only one cup and sharing. Sickly feeling after two sips.
Must try!
Unable to get a table as the queue was too big but there was no queue for takeaway. The hot chocolate is a must try! The cakes are also beautiful, not too sickly but very filling. We went and sat in the grounds opposite and enjoyed them. Would recommend a visit

The hot chocolate I've had on this trip to Paris! The desserts were so creative and beautiful, almost too pretty to eat haha
Slightly overrated
Service: The line was very long, about 25 minutes. We were seated on the 2nd floor, which is not the preferable area and was quite stuffy. The waiters and the hosts were nice and helpful. We were provided with the menu and served our choices shortly after ordering. Keep in mind that groups of 3 and more will be seated quicker, a few groups behind us in line were seated before us due to the availability of the larger tables. Food: We just came in for drinks and desserts. For drinks we ordered a vanilla milkshake, which was very sweet but delicious, and tea, which was just plain regular tea. For dessert we ordered Nuage Miel dragée and Finger noisette (pictures and their menu descriptions attached below). The Finger noisette was delicious and looked very pleasant. The Nuage Miel dragée, while beautiful, was not very pleasant to eat. The white outer shell was sweet and tender, but the inside jelly-like part contained chestnut, which added a very bitter aftertaste. I couldn’t finish the Nuage and felt a little sick after it. Ambience: While there is nothing to complain about, there is also no unusual things I’d like to mention. It is a regular tea/dessert place with a cute pastry bakery shop on the first floor. There was nothing exceptional about the decor or the vibe. It was pleasant. Overall: Food 7/10 Service 10/10 The wait 5/10 Ambience 8/10 I think there are many more places with good desserts that are worth visiting. Angelina might be slightly overrated.

My absolute favorite spot from my recent Paris trip! It 100% lives up to the hype and I'd highly recommend carving out time to dine here. My friend and I came around 11 AM and though we were expecting the line to be long, it wasn't too bad! We only waited about 15-20 minutes. The interior here is huge and they're a well-oiled machine, so even if the line might be intimidating, it does go fast. The vibes here are exquisite, and exactly what you'd imagine. It's so adorable and homey, yet chic and elegant. It can be a rather tight space depending on where you get seated, but breakfast in Paris doesn't get much better than this. My friend and I both got the Angelina breakfast, and each item was so delicious, though unsurprisingly, the Hot Chocolate is the star. So decadent!! The croissants, eggs, and bread were also a hit, and I love their in-house spreads and jams. We also got a ton of little trinkets, souvenirs, and pastries before leaving. An absolute must!
Nothing less than wonderful.
The Gin & Tonic was the best I've ever had. Anywhere. Perfection. The food...Fantastic. The desserts...Divine. The service...Wonderful. I cannot say enough about Angelina.
I tried their famous hot chocolate and loved it.
While the desserts were good, they didn't quite blow me away.

This place was cute.
I liked the food. The eggs were OK a little watery and the avocado toast was not what I expected. But the presentation of the food looked beautiful. The line was very long. I suggest cutting it. The hot chocolate was very well I suggest ordering it. And lastly, the service was horrendous.
Had Marie Antoinette been serving cakes from Angelina,
Had Marie Antoinette been serving cakes from Angelina, then, possibly, only her husband's name might appear on a plaque near the obelisk at Place de la Concorde, a mere ten minute walk away. Naturally, you'll wait in a long line to indulge, a short reprieve where one, unfortunately, has enough time to knit something with the Tricoteuses, positioned nearby. Sadly, the individuals serving these splendid confections are not expeditious in their craft, taking their time executing each order, and, one could only assume, do not descend from the family Sanson, or Deibler, who would have lopped off a succulent piece of cake far swifter. Unless you make a reservation, and enjoy your treats in the lovely dining room, there is not even a bascule to rest upon when partaking. The fare at Angelina is very rich, and meant to be eaten, as famously declared by Pierre Chaumette. But, if that kind of luxe just ain't for us, or if we crave a different kind of buzz, you can select an espresso and forego the sweets because we can't all be royals.

First there was a decently long line to get in so keep that in mind. The place presents itself as fancy but there is no dress code. The food all looks good and I had the Avocado toast. It looked amazing but it stops there. I tried some other items that were good like the thick hot chocolate which is very thick and is more like chocolate syrup than hot chocolate. Overall it was a good place but I feel the food could be improved by focusing less on looks but looks get instagram followers.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
